The Importance of Practice

How does practice link to developing practice

Fear of failure can be challenging. Not trying hard enough and just doing the basic because they dont belive theyre good enough.

Getting students to try other types of art e.g. ceramics, to find their ability in more than one thing - it can help their confidence in other types they're not as confident in.

Questioning can be used in lessons to:

Do you plan for the type of questions that you will use during different parts of the lesson?

Using Wait Time to teach students how to think. Are we listening? According to studies, a wait time of 3-5 seconds for closed Qs and 15 seconds for open Qs, will make a difference. Discuss with mentor on next meeting.

How do you involve all students in thinking hard?

Group MWBs with sharing ideas after independent thinking. Hold it in your head. Using peer pressure?

Groups: Test choice (so they can be comfortable and not feel judged) and no choice depending on task.
